The Real Majority

Did you KNOW?

The teenage sons of adolescent mothers are 2.7 times more likely to spend time in prison than the sons of mothers who delay childbearing until their early 20s.
(Robin Hood Foundation report, "Kids Having Kids" edited by Rebecca Maynard)
Can I just start over?
The short answer is Y-E-S!

If you've already been sexually active, it is never too late to make a different choice. Those who have decided to choose abstinence after being seuxally active list the following as tops for those who want to choose abstinence:

Five Keys to Starting Over
1. Make a commitment to start over. List the reasons you are choosing to change and be willing to stick to your decision.
2. Find out who your supporters are. Once you have made the decision, share your commitment with friends and family who will support you and not pressure you.
3. Communicate. Tell the people you date about your commitment and how you plan to stick to it. Make a decision to only date those who will respect your decision to wait.
4. Set boundaries. Set limits on your behavior and communicate those limits so you don't go too far physically.
5. Focus on your future. When abstinence gets difficult, remember your future goals and the reasons you have chosen to start over.
